AB RUST® AEv2

AB-RUST-AEv2-protection-metaux

AB RUST®AEv2 protects the metal in contact with water based formulations.

AB RUST®AEv2 is a ready to use aqueous solution made of several corrosion inhibitors.

AB RUST®AEv2 is VOC* free, nitrite free and European Ecolabel* compliant.

Applications - Dosage

AB RUST®AEv2 is mainly recommended for:

  • flash-rust protection of water based paints and varnishes based on acrylic, styrene-acrylic, alkyd, epoxy, polyurethane dispersions or emulsions
  • in-can protection for metal packaging filled with above products

AB RUST®AEv2 must be added preferentially in the letdown, before the rheological agents. The use in post-addition is also a possible option. The use levels are:

  • typically, from 1.0 to 1.5% based on the total weight

There is no advantage to use higher levels. On the contrary, a too high dosage can increase the water sensitivity of the dry film.

Characteristics

Aspect: yellowish to amber liquid
Density: 1.13 – 1.17 at 20°C
pH: 8.4 – 9.0 at 20°C
Solubility: Water soluble in all proportions

AB RUST®AEv2 can release an odour specific to its composition, even in the dry film, for a prolonged period of time.

Storage - Shelf-life

It is recommended to use AB RUST®AEv2 within 2 years following its manufacture (see the expiration date on the label).

Labeling

AB RUST®AEv2 is not classified according to the Regulation EC N°1272/2008. For further information, please consult the MSDS.

Regulatory informations

AB RUST®AEv2 components are registered on the following inventories: EINECS (Europe), TSCA (USA), DSL (Canada), AICS (Australia).

Comments

AB RUST®AEv2 is active on steels, aluminum.

AB RUST®AEv2 is a good alternative when the nitrite free AB RUST®NFP or EMADOX®ICP impact too much the paint’s viscosity.
