EMADOX® 2K

High performance

EMADOX-2K-protege-metaux-ferreux-en-phase-aqueuse

EMADOX®2K is made up of 2 constituents (EMADOX®2K/1 and EMADOX®2K/2) to blend successively into the paint, WITHOUT PREMIX.

EMADOX®2K is mainly recommended to protect ferrous metals (iron, cast iron, steels) in contact with water based formulations.

Applications - Dosage

EMADOX®2K is mainly recommended for:

  • flash-rust protection of water based anticorrosive primers, paints and varnishes based on acrylic, styrene-acrylic, polyurethane, 2K-epoxy binders…
  • in-can protection for metal packaging filled with above products

EMADOX®2K must be added preferentially in the letdown, before the rheological agents. The use in post-addition is also a possible option. 1% EMADOX®2K = 0.5% EMADOX®2K/1 + 0.5% EMADOX®2K/2

The use levels are:

  • typically, from 0.2 to 1% based on the total weight
  • exceptionally, for sensitive metal substrates, 1.5 to 2% based on the total weight

There is no advantage to use higher levels. On the contrary, a too high dosage can increase the water sensitivity of the dry film.
