EMADOX® ICP

High performance

EMADOX®ICP protects the water based formulations (glues, coatings, paints…) from the flash-rust phenomenon observed during the application and drying stages.

EMADOX®ICP is a ready to use aqueous solution combining several corrosion inhibitors.

EMADOX®ICP is VOC* free, nitrite free and European Ecolabel* compliant.

The sustainable alternative with additives formulated from plant-based bases

Applications - Dosage

EMADOX®ICP is mainly recommended for:

  • flash-rust protection of water based formulations based on acrylic, alkyd, epoxy polyurethane dispersions or emulsions.
  • in-can protection for metal packaging filled with above products

EMADOX®ICP must be added preferentially in the letdown, before the rheological agents. The use in post-addition is also a possible option. The use levels are:

  • typically, from 0.2 to 1% based on the total weight
  • exceptionally, for sensitive metal substrates, 1.5 to 2% based on the total weight

There is no advantage to use higher levels. On the contrary, a too high dosage can increase the water sensitivity of the dry film.

Characteristics

Aspect: yellow liquid
Density: 1.05 – 1.15 at 20°C
pH: 8.0 – 9.0 at 20°C
Solubility: Water soluble in all proportions

EMADOX®ICP can release an odour specific to its composition, even in the dry film, for a prolonged period of time.

Storage - Shelf-life

EMADOX®ICP is frost sensitive. It must be kept at temperature above 0°C.

It is recommended to use EMADOX®ICP within 2 years following its manufacture (see the expiration date on the label).

Labeling

EMADOX®ICP is classified in category 2 «Irritating to eyes». For further information, please consult the MSDS.

Regulatory information

EMADOX® ICP components are registered on the following inventories: EINECS (Europe), ENCS and ISHL (Japan), TCSI (Taiwan).

Comments

EMADOX®ICP is active on steels, galvanized steels, aluminum.
EMADOX®ICP formulation has been adapted in order to have every components listed on the TSCA (USA) and DSL/NDSL (Canada) inventories.
