New product

EMADOX®WR 14 protects the water based coatings from the flash-rust phenomenon observed during the application and drying stages.

EMADOX®WR 14 is a ready to use aqueous solution combining several corrosion inhibitors.

EMADOX®WR 14 is nitrite free and European Ecolabel* compliant.

Applications - Dosage

EMADOX®WR 14 is mainly recommended for:

  • flash-rust protection of water based formulations based on acrylic, alkyd, epoxy polyurethane dispersions or emulsions.
  • in-can protection for metal packaging filled with above products

EMADOX®WR 14 must be added preferentially in the letdown, before the rheological agents. The use in post-addition is also a possible option. The typical use levels are:

  • 1.0 to 1.5% based on the total weight

There is no advantage to use higher levels. On the contrary, a too high dosage can increase the water sensitivity of the dry film.

Aspect: yellowish to amber liquid
Density: 1.16 – 1.22 at 20°C
pH: 9.0 – 10.0 at 20°C
Solubility: Water soluble in all proportions

EMADOX®WR 14 can release an odour specific to its composition, even in the dry film, for a prolonged period of time.

Storage - Shelf-life

It is recommended to use EMADOX®WR 14 within 2 years following its manufacture (see the expiration date on the label).

EMADOX®WR 14 is classified according to the Regulation EC No. 1272/2008 [CLP].
