EMADOX® A4

High performance

EMADOX A4 protection meteaux ferreux

EMADOX®A4 is specifically designed to protect ferrous metals (iron, cast iron, steels) and aluminum in contact with water based formulations.

EMADOX®A4 is a ready to use aqueous solution based on corrosion inhibitor salts in combination with sodium nitrite.

EMADOX®A4 is VOC* free.

Applications - Dosage

EMADOX®A4 is mainly recommended for:

  • flash-rust protection of water based formulations based on acrylic, alkyd, epoxy, polyurethane dispersions or emulsions.
  • in-can protection for metal packaging filled with above products

EMADOX®A4 must be added preferentially in the letdown, before the rheological agents. The use in post-addition is also a possible option. The use levels are:

  • typically, from 0.2 to 1% based on the total weight
  • exceptionally, for sensitive metal substrates, 1.5 to 2% based on the total weight

There is no advantage to use higher levels. On the contrary, a too high dosage can increase the water sensitivity of the dry film.

Charactéristics

Aspect: yellow liquid, slightly foaming
Density: 1.12 – 1.16 at 20°C
pH: 8.1 – 8.7 at 20°C
Solubility: Water soluble in all proportions

EMADOX®A4 can release an odour specific to its composition, even in the dry film, for a prolonged period of time.

Storage - Shelf life

EMADOX®A4 is frost sensitive. It must be kept at temperature above 0°C. It is recommended to use EMADOX®A4 within 2 years following its manufacture (see the expiration date on the label).

Labeling

EMADOX®A4 is classified in category 2 «Irritating to eyes». For further information, please consult the MSDS.

Regulatory information

EMADOX® A4 components are registered on the following inventories: EINECS (Europe), ENCS and ISHL (Japan), KECI (South Korea), TCSI (Taiwan).

Comments
